An Post is designated as the sole universal postal service provider by the Communications Regulation (Postal Services) Act 2011 (“the 2011 Act”).
The 2011 Act sets out a general description of the “universal postal service” that An Post as the designated “universal service provider” is required to provide.
ComReg regulates the specification of the universal postal services to be provided; and the quality of service of these services by An Post.
