Consumer Care – Our Consumer Outreach Programme

Our Retail and Consumer Services division promotes awareness of the consumer services provided by us and our Consumer care team through outreach activities that include stands at popular events such as Active Retirement Ireland’s Trade and Tourism Show and at the launch of Roscommon Older People’s Council /Roscommon LEADER Partnership /Roscommon Citizens Information Service’s launch of its Social Policy Report on Older People’s Everyday Experiences of Banking and Telecommunication Providers in County Roscommon. We also advertise through Facebook and in targeted publications such as the Senior Times Magazine and the Senior Citizen’s Guidebook and we distribute our consumer guides through Active Retirement Ireland and a network of GP surgeries, health centres and hospitals nationwide.

The aim of our Outreach Programme is to protect and empower you to make informed choices by maximising the effectiveness of our consumer information and communication. We also aim to promote the interests of users within the community.

Through outreach activities, we engage with you to:

  • Inform and empower you on how best to engage with your ECS and PRS service providers in line with their complaints handling Codes of Practice
  • Educate you on your ECS and PRS rights and the dispute resolution service provided by our Consumer care team
  • Protect you, particularly if you are a vulnerable user who finds dealing with ECS and PRS providers challenging.

Our Outreach Programme is part of our Strategy Statement, our strategic planning process and Section 12 (1)(a)(iii) of the Communications Regulation Act, 2002 (2007 Amended).
