In 2019, for the first time, the printed phonebook directory was only made available to those who made a request for it.\u00a0 This was a change from the usual nationwide distribution, where every household and place of business automatically received one.<\/p>\n
The level of demand for printed phonebook directories was quite low in 2019, and having assessed this, as well as the market for directory of subscribers\u2019 services in Ireland more broadly, ComReg is now considering, amongst other options, not to put in place an obligation, which was in place until now, to produce a printed phonebook directory.<\/p>\n
