{"id":116166,"date":"2021-03-12T11:12:16","date_gmt":"2021-03-12T11:12:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.comreg.ie\/?p=116166"},"modified":"2023-08-28T12:07:35","modified_gmt":"2023-08-28T12:07:35","slug":"data-breach-at-fastway-couriers-ireland","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.comreg.ie\/ga\/data-breach-at-fastway-couriers-ireland\/","title":{"rendered":"Data Breach at Fastway Couriers (Ireland)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ComReg has become aware that Fastway Couriers (Ireland) (\u201cFastway\u201d) has advised that it has notified the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dataprotection.ie\/\">Data Protection Commission<\/a> and An Garda S\u00edoch\u00e1na of a data breach:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fastway has stated that as a consequence of a cyber-attack,<em> \u201cclient data, including customers\u2019 personal information, has been compromised. The data in question is information used for the purposes of delivery (name, address, email and\/or phone). No financial data or other personal data has been compromised, nor is this stored on any Fastway system\u201d.<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Fastway also state that <em>\u201cThe data compromised relates to \u2026a period of approximately 30 days from mid-January onwards\u201d<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>Fastway advises that Consumers who have used Fastway during this period or are concerned about this matter should contact it via email at: <a href=\"mailto:dp@fastway.ie\">dp@fastway.ie<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Read Fastway\u2019s full statement on its website: \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fastway.ie\/why-fastway\/media-releases\/399-statement-from-fastway-couriers-regarding-data-breach\">https:\/\/www.fastway.ie\/why-fastway\/media-releases\/399-statement-from-fastway-couriers-regarding-data-breach<\/a><\/p>\n<p>ComReg has no regulatory remit with regard to data breaches.
