{"id":121462,"date":"2022-07-06T15:58:46","date_gmt":"2022-07-06T15:58:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.comreg.ie\/?p=121462"},"modified":"2023-08-28T11:18:42","modified_gmt":"2023-08-28T11:18:42","slug":"comreg-consumer-news-q2-2022-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.comreg.ie\/ga\/comreg-consumer-news-q2-2022-2\/","title":{"rendered":"ComReg Consumer News Q2 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>During the second quarter of 2022 (April to June), ComReg\u2019s consumer news and publications included the following:<\/p>\n<p>Our consumer news <strong>informed consumers<\/strong> of <a href=\"\/scam-whatsapp-text-warning-messages-pretending-to-be-from-a-family-member\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">scam WhatsApp texts<\/a> being sent to consumers and we published a set of <a href=\"\/scam-calls-and-scam-texts-frequently-asked-questions-faqs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Frequently Asked Questions<\/a> about scam calls and scam texts. In addition, we answered some common consumer questions about <a href=\"\/what-are-premium-rate-services-prs-on-a-mobile-phone-or-landline\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Premium Rate Services (PRS)<\/a>. PRS are goods and services that you can buy by paying for them with your landline or mobile phone. We also informed consumers that <a href=\"\/broadband-speeds-information-is-in-your-contract-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">broadband speeds information is in their contract<\/a>, following our publication of the 2022 Report on the implementation of EU Open Internet Access Regulations in Ireland.<\/p>\n<p>We <strong>advised consumers<\/strong> to <a href=\"\/comregs-outdoor-mobile-coverage-map-and-app\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">visit our coverage map or download our iOS or Android app<\/a> to view our predicted outdoor 2G, 3G and 4G mobile coverage for 10 Mobile Service Providers in Ireland. Our mobile coverage map and app is one are some of ComReg\u2019s <strong>consumer tools and resources <\/strong>and the coverage data was updated in April. We also advised consumers on <a href=\"\/how-to-shop-around-for-a-better-mobile-landline-or-broadband-deal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">how to shop around<\/a> for a better mobile, landline or broadband deal if a service provider increases its prices.<\/p>\n<p>In respect of <strong>research and reports<\/strong> our consumer news highlighted the <a href=\"\/comreg-publishes-consumer-line-statistics-report-q1-2022\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Q1 Consumer Line Statistics<\/a> with details of issues raised by consumers who contacted its Consumer Care team during the first three months of 2022. ComReg also published <a href=\"\/irish-text-relay-service-itrs-take-up-and-usage-statistics-3\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Irish Text Relay Service (ITRS) Take-Up and Usage Statistics<\/a> for the period July 2021 \u2013 December 2021.
