{"id":122898,"date":"2022-12-08T12:25:15","date_gmt":"2022-12-08T12:25:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.comreg.ie\/?p=122898"},"modified":"2022-12-09T10:23:52","modified_gmt":"2022-12-09T10:23:52","slug":"electronic-communications-sector-quarterly-report-for-q3-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.comreg.ie\/ga\/electronic-communications-sector-quarterly-report-for-q3-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"Electronic Communications Sector Quarterly Report for Q3 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ComReg has today released its Quarterly Key Data Report on the Electronic Communications market for the period (1 July to 30 September), Q3 2022.<\/p>\n<p>The main findings include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fixed broadband subscriber lines increased to 1.60 million, a 0.3% increase this quarter and an increase of 2.2% compared to Q3 2021. Of these, nearly 466k were fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP) subscriber lines representing 28.9% of total fixed broadband subscriber lines in Q3 2022, up from 21.8% in Q3 2021.<\/li>\n<li>According to Eurostat, Ireland\u2019s household broadband penetration rate (including fixed and mobile broadband) in 2021 was at 93%, which is higher than the EU average of 90%.<\/li>\n<li>On a monthly basis an average fixed residential broadband subscriber line used 368.5 GB of data, an increase of 11.8% since Q3 2021.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The press release is available in <a href=\"\/media\/2022\/12\/ComReg-Press-Release-0812-1.pdf\">English <\/a>and <a href=\"\/media\/2022\/12\/IRISH-ComRegPRQR-Q3-2022.pdf\">Irish<\/a>.
