{"id":123176,"date":"2022-12-21T09:29:13","date_gmt":"2022-12-21T09:29:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.comreg.ie\/?p=123176"},"modified":"2022-12-21T09:30:00","modified_gmt":"2022-12-21T09:30:00","slug":"multi-band-spectrum-award-mbsa2-three-granted-leave-to-withdraw-its-appeal-and-ordered-to-pay-comregs-costs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.comreg.ie\/ga\/multi-band-spectrum-award-mbsa2-three-granted-leave-to-withdraw-its-appeal-and-ordered-to-pay-comregs-costs\/","title":{"rendered":"Multi Band Spectrum Award: Three granted leave to withdraw its Appeal and ordered to pay ComReg\u2019s costs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ComReg has published an Information Notice (<a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/3BTp6tg\">Document 22\/113<\/a>) noting that the substantive challenge to the Multi Band Spectrum Award (MBSA2) Decision is now over and that the High Court has awarded ComReg its costs against Three.<\/p>\n<p>As soon as the stay is lifted by the Court of Appeal, ComReg will complete all the remaining stages of the MBSA2 and proceed to issue licences for long-term (circa 19 years) spectrum rights of use in the 700 MHz, 2.1 GHz 2.3 GHz 2.6 GHz bands.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on developments, ComReg Commissioner Garrett Blaney said \u201cThis is very positive for connectivity in Ireland and is clear vindication of ComReg\u2019s 2020 decision to advance this award. The 46% increase in the radio spectrum assigned for mobile and fixed wireless services is significant, particularly in rural areas where wireless services play a very important role.
