{"id":126485,"date":"2023-10-03T14:29:40","date_gmt":"2023-10-03T14:29:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.comreg.ie\/?p=126485"},"modified":"2023-11-09T10:31:53","modified_gmt":"2023-11-09T10:31:53","slug":"consumer-news-for-q3-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.comreg.ie\/ga\/consumer-news-for-q3-2023\/","title":{"rendered":"Consumer News for Q3 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>During the third quarter of 2023 (July to September), ComReg\u2019s consumer news and publications included the following.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>We <strong>informed consumers<\/strong> about<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the designation of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.comreg.ie\/an-post-to-continue-to-be-designated-universal-postal-service-provider\/?type=consumer-news\">An Post as the universal postal service provider<\/a>;<\/li>\n<li>the requirement for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.comreg.ie\/broadband-speed-information-in-your-contract\/?type=consumer-news\">broadband speed information<\/a> to be in your contract;<\/li>\n<li>using your mobile phone <a href=\"https:\/\/www.comreg.ie\/using-your-mobile-phone-when-you-travel\/?type=consumer-news\">when you travel<\/a> in or outside of the EU.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We <strong>advised consumers<\/strong> to<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>visit our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.comreg.ie\/visit-us-at-the-50-plus-show-in-cork\/?type=consumer-news\">stand at the 50 Plus Show<\/a> in Cork;<\/li>\n<li>download ComReg\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.comreg.ie\/download-comregs-outdoor-mobile-coverage-app\/?type=consumer-news\">Outdoor Mobile Coverage App<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In terms of <strong>research and reports<\/strong> we<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>published <a href=\"https:\/\/www.comreg.ie\/comreg-publishes-consumer-care-statistics-report-q2-2023\/?type=consumer-news\">Q2 Consumer Care Statistics<\/a> with details of issues raised by consumers who contacted ComReg\u2019s Consumer Care team from 1 April to 30 June 2023;<\/li>\n<li>published results from our 2023 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.comreg.ie\/broadband-connectivity-survey-2023\/?type=consumer-news\">Broadband Connectivity Survey<\/a>;<\/li>\n<li>published the latest report on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.comreg.ie\/irish-text-relay-service-report\/?type=consumer-news\">Irish Text Relay Service usage<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We <strong>sought your views<\/strong> on<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.comreg.ie\/deadline-extended-on-consultation-combatting-scam-calls-texts\/?type=consumer-news\"> consultation<\/a> on combatting scam calls\/texts;<\/li>\n<li>call for inputs as part of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.comreg.ie\/review-of-service-provider-accessibility-requirements\/?type=consumer-news\">review of Service Provider Accessibility Requirements<\/a>;<\/li>\n<li>a consultation on ComReg\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.comreg.ie\/consultation-on-proposed-postal-strategy-now-open\/?type=consumer-news\">proposed postal strategy<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Our <strong>compliance <\/strong>work resulted in<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.comreg.ie\/48-retracts-contract-change-to-shorten-billing-cycle\/?type=consumer-news\">48 retracting a contract change<\/a> to shorten billing cycle;<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.comreg.ie\/three-credits-25500-customers\/?type=consumer-news\">Three crediting 25,500 customers<\/a> a total of \u20ac140,600 after a finding of non-compliance under its obligations with the Premium Rate Services (PRS) Code of Practice and the conditions of its PRS licences.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>During the third quarter of 2023 (July to September), ComReg\u2019s consumer news and publications included the following. \u00a0We informed consumers about the designation of An &hellip;
