{"id":132863,"date":"2025-01-10T12:11:12","date_gmt":"2025-01-10T12:11:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.comreg.ie\/?p=132863"},"modified":"2025-03-10T14:57:26","modified_gmt":"2025-03-10T14:57:26","slug":"consumer-news-from-q4-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.comreg.ie\/ga\/consumer-news-from-q4-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"Consumer News from Q4 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>During the fourth quarter of 2024 (October to December), ComReg had a range of news for consumers that included some of the following topics:<\/p>\n<p>We <strong>informed consumers<\/strong> about<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>entering into a <a href=\"\/entering-into-a-contract-for-phone-or-broadband-services\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">contract for phone or broadband<\/a> services;<\/li>\n<li>Service Provider <a href=\"\/service-provider-complaints-procedures-and-code-of-practice\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">complaints procedures<\/a> and Code of Practice;<\/li>\n<li>finding the best <a href=\"\/looking-for-the-best-deals-on-black-friday\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Black Friday and Cyber Monday<\/a> deals;<\/li>\n<li>the <a href=\"\/latest-postal-dates-for-christmas-delivery\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">latest posting dates<\/a> for Christmas delivery;<\/li>\n<li>having a <a href=\"\/consider-having-a-battery-back-up-device-this-winter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">battery back-up<\/a> device during winter;<\/li>\n<li>the <a href=\"\/comreg-consumer-care-christmas-and-new-year-opening-hours-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">operating hours<\/a> of our Consumer Care team to offer advice and information over Christmas and New Year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We <strong>advised consumers<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>to visit our stand at <a href=\"\/visit-us-at-the-50-plus-show-in-limerick\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The 50 Plus Show<\/a> in Limerick;<\/li>\n<li>to <a href=\"\/be-vigilant-against-scams-this-festive-season\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">be vigilant against scams<\/a> during the festive season.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In terms of <strong>research and reports<\/strong> we<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>published <a href=\"\/comreg-publishes-consumer-care-statistics-report-q3-2024\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Q3 Consumer Care Statistics<\/a> with details of issues raised by consumers who contacted ComReg\u2019s Consumer Care team from July to September 2024.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We <strong>sought your views<\/strong> on<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>our consultation on <a href=\"\/consultation-on-missed-and-delayed-service-and-installation-appointments\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Missed and Delayed Service and Installation Appointments<\/a>;<\/li>\n<li>a consultation on ComReg\u2019s <a href=\"\/consultation-open-on-comregs-2025-2027-strategy-statement\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2025-2027 Strategy Statement<\/a>, open for responses until 5pm on Friday, 14 February 2025.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Our <strong>compliance<\/strong> work resulted in<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Three Ireland <a href=\"\/three-ireland-to-refund-14000-customers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">refunding 14,000 customers<\/a> a total amount of approximately \u20ac3.76m in roaming charges.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>During the fourth quarter of 2024 (October to December), ComReg had a range of news for consumers that included some of the following topics: We &hellip;
