{"id":133980,"date":"2025-04-14T08:06:00","date_gmt":"2025-04-14T08:06:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.comreg.ie\/?p=133980"},"modified":"2025-05-07T10:34:40","modified_gmt":"2025-05-07T10:34:40","slug":"consumer-news-from-q1-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.comreg.ie\/ga\/consumer-news-from-q1-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"Consumer News from Q1 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>During the first quarter of 2025 (January to March), ComReg had a range of news for consumers that included some of the following topics:<\/p>\n<p>We <strong>informed consumers<\/strong> about<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>using a <a href=\"\/a-battery-back-up-can-help-in-severe-weather\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">battery back-up<\/a> device in severe weather;<\/li>\n<li>their choices for <a href=\"\/what-are-my-choices-for-paper-or-electronic-bills\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">paper or electronic<\/a> bills;<\/li>\n<li>our role to <a href=\"\/we-provide-independent-information-on-your-mobile-and-broadband-services\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">provide independent information<\/a> on mobile and broadband services.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We <strong>advised consumers<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>to visit our stand at <a href=\"\/visit-us-at-the-holiday-show-limerick\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Holiday Show<\/a> in Limerick;<\/li>\n<li>to visit our stand at <a href=\"\/visit-us-at-the-50-plus-show-in-dublin-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The 50 Plus Show<\/a> in Dublin;<\/li>\n<li>on checking which price plans do not have <a href=\"\/check-which-price-plans-do-not-have-annual-price-increases-on-comreg-compare\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">annual price increases<\/a> on ComReg Compare.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In terms of <strong>research and reports<\/strong> we published<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>an Information Notice on <a href=\"\/acessibility-of-electronic-communications-services\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Accessibility<\/a> of Electronic Communications Services;<\/li>\n<li>the <a href=\"\/irish-text-relay-service-usage-report-published-for-2024\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Irish Text Relay Service usage report<\/a> for 2024;<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"\/comreg-publishes-consumer-care-statistics-report-q4-2024\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Q4 Consumer Care Statistics<\/a> with details of issues raised by consumers who contacted ComReg\u2019s Consumer Care team from October to December 2024.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We <strong>sought your views<\/strong> on<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>our consultation on proposals for implementing a <a href=\"\/customer-charter-consultation-closing-date-approaching\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Customer Charter<\/a> for providers of internet and phone services;<\/li>\n<li>a consultation on ComReg\u2019s <a href=\"\/consultation-open-on-comregs-2025-2027-strategy-statement\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2025-2027 Strategy Statement<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Our <strong>compliance<\/strong> work resulted in<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An Post refunding a total amount of over <a href=\"\/an-post-mobile-refunds-over-25000-to-customers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u20ac25,000 to 4,700<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>During the first quarter of 2025 (January to March), ComReg had a range of news for consumers that included some of the following topics: We &hellip;
