The text is transmitted instantly, over a voice call channel, displaying each character on the other person\u2019s screen as it is typed. RTT allows users to read text instantly as it is being entered, creating a real-time conversational experience.\u00a0 It is particularly useful for deaf, hard-of-hearing, or speech-impaired users.<\/p>\n<p>Vodafone Ireland is the first mobile operator in Ireland to introduce RTT. The launch coincides with the implementation of the <a href=\"\/advice-information\/service-provider-requirements\/service-provider-accessibility-requirements\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">European Accessibility Act<\/a> last .<\/p>\n<p>This initiative enhances emergency communication by building on a pilot program launched in January 2025, the first operational native RTT service in Europe, that allows voice-based RTT without the need for users to pre-register or download an app. It enables 112\/999 users to communicate with greater immediacy during emergencies.\u00a0 It can also be used in person-to-person calls.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Vodafone Ireland has announced the launch of Real-Time Text (RTT) in Ireland.
