At 3pm on Sunday, 7 September 2025 the UK Government will test the UK Emergency Alerts system.<\/p>\n

The test alert will be sent to compatible 4G and 5G devices across the UK.<\/p>\n

Mobile phone customers on mobile networks in Ireland won’t receive the message, but those with compatible 4G and 5G devices near border areas roaming onto a UK mobile network may get the alert.<\/p>\n

Recipients will hear a loud, siren-like sound and the phone will use a distinct vibration. If you have a vision or hearing impairment, audio and vibration attention signals will let you know you have received the test.<\/p>\n

The UK Emergency Alerts system enables the UK Government and emergency services to send ‘alerts’ and advice to all mobile phones and devices during life-threatening emergencies, such as an extreme weather event, across Britain and Northern Ireland.<\/p>\n

This test is not a real emergency and requires no action.<\/p>\n
