{"id":139295,"date":"2026-07-08T08:48:40","date_gmt":"2026-07-08T08:48:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.comreg.ie\/?p=139295"},"modified":"2026-07-08T08:57:54","modified_gmt":"2026-07-08T08:57:54","slug":"consumer-news-from-q2-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.comreg.ie\/ga\/consumer-news-from-q2-2026\/","title":{"rendered":"Consumer News from Q2 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>During the second quarter of 2026 (April to June), ComReg had a range of news for consumers that included some of the following topics:<\/p>\n<p>We <strong>informed consumers<\/strong> about<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>what <a href=\"\/what-is-an-esim\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">an eSIM<\/a> is;<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"\/what-is-real-time-text-rtt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Real Time Text<\/a> (RTT);<\/li>\n<li>how to <a href=\"\/how-to-find-the-best-broadband-in-your-area\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">find the best broadband<\/a> in your area;<\/li>\n<li>the requirement for phone and internet providers to publish a <a href=\"\/phone-and-internet-providers-required-to-publish-customer-charter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Customer Charter<\/a>;<\/li>\n<li>new <a href=\"\/new-customs-rules-for-online-purchases-from-outside-the-eu-including-great-britain\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">customs rules for online purchases<\/a> from outside the EU, including Great Britain;<\/li>\n<li>the requirement for your contract to include <a href=\"\/your-contract-should-include-broadband-speed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">broadband speeds<\/a>;<\/li>\n<li>a European Commission <a href=\"\/business-postal-user-survey-on-possible-changes-to-eu-postal-regulation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">survey<\/a> for business postal users.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We <strong>advised consumers<\/strong> to<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>get to know the different <a href=\"\/get-to-know-the-different-types-of-broadband\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">types of broadband<\/a>;<\/li>\n<li>visit our stand at The 50 Plus Show in <a href=\"\/visit-us-at-the-50-plus-show-in-limerick-3\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Limerick<\/a> in May and <a href=\"\/visit-us-at-the-50-plus-show-in-sligo-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sligo<\/a> in July;<\/li>\n<li>check mobile coverage on <a href=\"\/check-your-mobile-coverage\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ComReg\u2019s mobile coverage map<\/a>;<\/li>\n<li>be vigilant against <a href=\"\/be-vigilant-against-scam-calls-and-texts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">scam calls and text<\/a>s;<\/li>\n<li>find the <a href=\"\/find-the-phone-or-broadband-plan-that-fits-your-needs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">phone and broadband plan<\/a> that fits your needs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We published<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"\/comreg-publishes-consumer-care-report-q1-2026\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Q1 Consumer Care Report<\/a> on issues raised by consumers who contacted ComReg\u2019s Consumer Care team from January to March 2026.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>During the second quarter of 2026 (April to June), ComReg had a range of news for consumers that included some of the following topics: We &hellip;
