HR Generalist 15 month FTC

Reporting to the HR Manager, the primary role of the HR Generalist, is to deliver and/or contribute to a wide range of HR operational activities. The successful candidate will be part of the HR Operations team with primary responsibility for all Talent Acquisition and HR Operations connected to Compensation and Benefits, Performance Management, Employee Relations and general employee experience.

The Corporate Services Team

The Corporate Services Division develops and implements corporate affairs and communications strategies designed to enhance our organisational performance and effectiveness. It is a key function, supporting all other Divisions across ComReg in the areas of Human Resources, Finance, Information Technology, Public Relations, and Facilities Management.

What will I be doing?

Reporting to the HR Manager, the primary role of the HR Generalist, is to deliver and/or contribute to a wide range of HR operational activities. The successful candidate will be part of the HR Operations team with primary responsibility for all Talent Acquisition and HR Operations connected to Compensation and Benefits, Performance Management, Employee Relations and general employee experience. They will work very closely with the HR Manager and Recruitment Specialist and also work with the wider team on organisation wide HR Projects and continual improvements.

Helping our organisation grow – A large part of your role will be manage the recruitment lifecycle and to recruit the best talent for ComReg. You will achieve this by driving our TA process efficiently and effectively to meet the needs of the business and in partnership with hiring managers. You will also bring innovation and best HR best practice around TA to ensure a competitive edge in a tight labour market.

Being a HR systems whizz – This role will be an admin user for our HR and applicant tracker system. It’s crucial that you are more than comfortable using technology and being the liaison between the vendors and ComReg. Of course, you will also be responsible for communicating any system changes to staff and making sure all information stored is correct and up to date.

Provide support and advice to colleagues – Our respect charter is at the heart of everything we do. You will need to be understanding, empathetic and be comfortable in giving guidance to both employees and managers to nurture a positive workplace environment that fosters employee growth and development.

Keeping us compliant– You will be responsible for tracking and reporting on all leave types – including sick leave, maternity, paternity, parental and other leave. You will also be producing and analysing reports and metrics on all aspects of the HR function. A big focus of this role will be to update policies and procedures in line with new and existing legislation. Maintaining current and historic HR files in accordance with GDPR protocols will also be your responsibility. Our time and attendance system will also fall under your remit. We will also expect that you keep your finger on the pulse of any changes in legislation and best practice.

Making sure our people are compensated – you will be responsible for delivering monthly accurate payroll returns to our finance Dept. This also includes managing some aspects of compensation and benefits. An eye for detail will be important here.

Being one of us – Our HR team work collaboratively with each other and across the organisation. You will be providing general HR administrative support such as: preparation of letters and documents, managing employee relations cases, supporting the Performance Management cycle, helping out our Learning colleagues when required and managing procurement competitions.

What skills and experience do I need?

Here are the skills and experience that are essential for this role;

·        Minimum level 6 qualification in Human Resource Management. Candidates without the qualification but with extensive experience in all areas of responsibility will also be considered.

·        Experience in all aspects of HR Operations

·        Demonstrable experience in managing full cycle recruitment including competency-based interviewing.

·        Experience of reporting and analysing HR data & trends. This includes being a proficient user of excel and reporting within a HRIS.

·        Qualification in, or experience of Irish employment law or employee relations

·        Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality

·        High level of attention to detail

·        Able to manage multiple tasks to successful outcomes

·        Confident and articulate with proven ability to communicate courteously and professionally

It would be great if you also had;

·        Previous experience of working in a HR role in the public sector

·        CIPD Accreditation

·        Experience with Strandum HR system

·        Experience of managing outsourced providers
