Have your say on World Post Day

World Post Day is celebrated each year on 9 October and aims to raise awareness of the post’s role in the everyday lives of people and businesses, as well as its contribution to global social and economic development.

In Ireland, did you know that letter post is largely business related?  According to research recently carried out by ComReg, SMEs send on average 68 letters per month, while residents only send on average 3 letters a month.  SMEs claim 6 in 10 of letter post sent to be important.  Among residential consumers, a similar amount of important and standard mail is sent.  Find out more at our dedicated postal research page.

World Post Day coincides with ComReg’s consultation on its draft Postal Strategy Statement 2020 – 2022 which acts as a mid-term review of our five year strategy for postal regulation, noting progress made, and identifying the key programmes of work for the period 2020 – 2022. We are seeking views on our proposals through a public consultation and the consultation questions and details on how to make a submission can be found at this link.
