Equipment Compliance

All electrical and electronic equipment placed on the market must be compliant with the EMC Directive, while all radio equipment must also be compliant with R&TTE Directive.

These directives are transposed into Irish law as Regulations, which gives ComReg, through its Spectrum Compliance section, the power to prosecute those placing non-compliant equipment on the market.

Spectrum Compliance also works with Customs & Excise to prevent non-compliant equipment from entering the State.

All electronic equipment should have a “CE” mark and radio equipment should additionally have a Declaration of Conformity included in its packaging.
