Retail and Consumer Services Division

Retail and Consumer Services Division is responsible for the following key organisational functions;


Consumer Policy
The Consumer Policy Unit undertakes measures to ensure consumer protection in the marketplace; the universal provision of telecommunications services and certain retail pricing responsibilities.

TREND
The TREND Unit is responsible for the research, analysis and presentation of key market data, trends and commentary; the conduct of consumer and business surveys and statistical data analysis and research for discrete projects.

Economic Analysis
The Economic Analysis Unit provides economic advice on projects across the organisation.

International Affairs
The International Affairs Unit manages ComReg's international work programme, including engagement at the highest levels with a broad range of stakeholders.

Emergency Call Answering Service
ComReg's responsibilities in respect of Ireland's Emergency Call Handling Service (ECAS) include two key functions - to minority the quality of service provided by the ECAS provider and to review the maximum call handling fee charged by the ECAS provider to operators.

Premium Rate Services project
A project related to the transfer of the regulation of premium rate services to ComReg.
