A battery back-up device can help in severe weather

Severe weather and storms can sometimes cause a power outage to your home.

If there is a power cut and the internet stops working, phone service and devices reliant on the broadband connection will not work either.

If the broadband network itself remains powered, then you could use a battery back-up. This allows you to temporarily keep your router and modem working during a power outage, to remain connected to the internet.

If you have a VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) landline, which allows you to make calls over the internet, having a battery back-up means you can still make and receive calls during a power cut.

Remember to also keep your devices charged before the onset of storms or severe weather.

There are currently battery back-up devices that you can buy on the market, or you can seek advice from your service provider.
