CHECK OUT COMREG’S NEW COMPARE WEBSITE FOR THE BEST MOBILE DEALS THIS CHRISTMAS

The Commission for Communications Regulation (ComReg) has launched a new online value comparison tool, www.comreg.ie/compare. As mobile phones are on many wish lists this Christmas, gift-givers can now compare and contrast the best mobile price plans from the comfort of home to get the best deal for them. ComReg Compare is a free, up-to-date, easy to use, and an independent comparison tool that can be used via the ComReg website. It also allows consumers to compare home phone, broadband and TV packages.

Whether buying a mobile phone for a loved one this Christmas, or simply searching for a better service provider or package, ComReg Compare can help find the best price plan for each person’s individual needs. The tool offers consumers the opportunity to browse all the mobile plans available and then filter by price, network, handset model and contract type, or work out the best option based on usage and what they want to spend per month.

Barbara Delaney, Director of Retail and Consumer Services, said: “we understand that every consumer is different, and that their needs and wants from a mobile price plan are individual to them. Choosing the right package, especially as a gift, can be confusing, so we are encouraging all consumers to log on and use ComReg Compare this Christmas before going shopping in order to make an informed choice. This tool will allow consumers to check if they are getting the best value, or indeed to see if there is better value out there if they are considering switching for their own needs.”

ComReg Compare is easy to use and the results are listed, by default, in order of average monthly cost by service provider, with the cheapest first. This list can be filtered by consumers. Consumers can find cost, discount, allowance and network information, along with links to terms and conditions, handset FAQs and provider websites on www.comreg.ie/compare, before they make a decision to purchase.
