ComReg amends a Notification of a Finding of Non-Compliance previously issued to Virgin Media

ComReg has amended the Notification of Finding of Non-Compliance previously issued to Virgin Media regarding its obligations with the Universal Service Regulations.

ComReg found that the following conditions and procedures for contract termination acted as a disincentive to a consumer changing service provider:

  • The conditions and procedures for cancelling a contract which resulted in the vast majority of customers having to call 1908 to cancel;
  • The requirement to engage in a “Save Activity” procedure when customers sought to cancel;
  • The imposition of a 30-day notice period on customers who wished to change ECS providers.

Virgin Media has until 22 October 2021 to state its views.
