Did you know your contract should include your broadband speed?

Internet service providers must include specific information in your contract about:

  • the minimum, normally available, maximum and advertised download and upload speed of your home broadband;
  • the estimated maximum and advertised download and upload speeds of your mobile internet.

It’s important that you shop around to get the best value offer for the broadband service you’re looking for. A service provider should provide you with a Contract Summary before you sign up to a contract. This is a standardised document to provide you with the main terms of the service on offer in an easy-to-understand format.

We have advice and information on the requirements of internet service providers to include broadband speed information within your contract.

If you are considering a new broadband provider, we have an online tool that enables you to compare price plans for different service providers and find the best plan, based on your needs.
