Report a Product Safety Issue

Raise a compliance or product safety concern to ComReg.

ComReg is the market surveillance authority in Ireland for both the Radio Equipment Directive (RED) (2014/53/EU) and the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Directive (2014/35/EU).

• RED Products are electrical or electronic equipment which intentionally emit or receive radio waves for the purpose of radio communication. Examples include Wi-Fi or Bluetooth products, baby monitors, two-way radios, mobile phones, GPS sat navs, trackers etc.
• EMC products are electrical or electronic products that can generate electromagnetic emissions which may also interfere with other equipment.

Please note the following:

• ComReg can investigate product safety and compliance issues with RED products, and compliance issues with EMC products.
• Product safety issues with EMC products are out of ComReg’s remit and are handled by the CCPC under the Low Voltage Regulations.
• ComReg cannot assist you with obtaining a refund for a product safety issue.
• ComReg’s powers as a market surveillance authority are limited to directing the relevant economic operator to withdraw or recall a non-complaint or dangerous product from the market.

To assist the product safety team in triaging your compliant, please fill in all required fields and, if possible, supply a copy of proof of purchase and images of the issue. The Product Safety Unit will review all information and respond to you within 5 working days.
