Your contract must include your broadband speed

Your internet service provider must include specific information in your contract about:

  • the minimum, normally available, maximum and advertised download and upload speed of your home broadband;
  • the estimated maximum and advertised download and upload speeds of your mobile internet.

It’s important to shop around and compare options to find the best value for your broadband service. Before signing a contract, ensure the provider gives you a Contract Summary outlining the main terms clearly.

We have advice and information on requirements to include broadband speed information in contracts.

If you are considering a new broadband provider, our online tool helps you to compare price plans from different providers to find the best plan to fit your needs.
