Lorcan, Business Analyst

Retail & Consumer Services Division

I am a Business Analyst on the postal team within the Retail & Consumer Services Division having joined ComReg 3 years ago.

ComReg is a multidisciplinary environment and professions can range from engineers, accountants, legal professionals to economists and analysts. My division consists of experienced professionals, who each play a role in the day-to-day workings of ComReg. Teams engage on projects together, but also drive their individual project plans which support various organisational strategy statements.

As a qualified accountant, my role offers a wide range of responsibility and experience. I’ve had the opportunity to work on national surveys and studies, and to represent ComReg at European meetings and conferences.

Day to day my role involves reviewing and analysing complex big data but also work that would not be typical of an accountant role.

I enjoy the level of interaction and collaboration within my team. Work can vary significantly, with opportunities to build experience and knowledge. There are on-going opportunities to contribute to new work and projects. The most challenging element of the job is maintaining the high standards required when it comes to preparation and delivery of multiple projects. Time management and good project management skills are essential.

Since joining ComReg, I have been given lots of support and opportunities to develop. I have been afforded the opportunity to gain a significant amount of experience working on different projects across a variety of areas, and to engage with external international stakeholders. I have also been supported in undertaking further education.

ComReg provides an abundance of supports to its employees. Employees are given the equipment and tools to carry out their job to the highest level. There is also generous annual leave, flexible working arrangements, and opportunities for further education.

There is a culture of sharing, support, and collaboration which makes ComReg a great organisation to be part of and I would highly recommend it to anyone.
