During the fourth quarter of 2025 (October to December), ComReg had a range of news for consumers that included some of the following topics:
We informed consumers about
- contract rights for phone and broadband services;
- billing rights for phone and broadband customers;
- requirement for inclusion of broadband speed in contracts;
- the latest posting dates for Christmas delivery;
- EU mobile roaming extending to Moldova and Ukraine in 2026;
- the operating hours of our Consumer Care team to offer advice and information over Christmas and New Year.
We advised consumers to
- visit our stand at The Health & Wellbeing Age Expo in Ennis in October;
- prepare for severe weather this winter;
- be aware of Fastway Couriers Ireland entering receivership;
- visit our stand at The 50 Plus Show in Limerick in November;
- be aware of providers compensation scheme in place from 4 December 2025;
- be vigilant against scams during the Christmas season.
In terms of reports and publications we
- sought views on European Commission call for input on a proposed EU Delivery Act;
- published Q3 Consumer Care Statistics on issues raised by consumers who contacted ComReg’s Consumer Care team from July to September 2025.
Our compliance work resulted in
- Tipp Broadband and Rural Broadband fined €15,000 following an investigation;
- Vodafone Ireland to refund over €894,000 in roaming charges to approximately 20,000 customers.
