Aircraft Radio

An Aircraft Station Licence is required for the possession and operation of radio equipment on-board Irish registered aircraft.

In Ireland, regulation of the aviation industry is the responsibility of the Irish Aviation Authority (IAA). ComReg’s role in this area is limited to administering the issue of radio licences for radio transceiver equipment on board aircraft, for ground based aeronautical transceivers, radar and radionavigation systems.
